About Attars for Men

Picking a men's attar

Woody and amber attars built on sandalwood, cedar, patchouli and amber are the easiest first choice: warm, steady and fine for work. Oud attars are deeper and smokier, best for evenings and the cooler months. Fresh citrus attars are the lightest and suit Indian summers and the gym bag. If you like warmth with an edge, look for saffron, cardamom or pepper in the notes on each product page.

How much to apply

One dab on each wrist and one at the neck is enough. Do not rub; let the oil settle into the skin. A touch on a cotton collar or cuff lasts even longer.

Are these attars only for men?

Just under half were made for men. The rest are unisex blends that men wear just as often, and each product page says who a scent was made for.

Which men's attar lasts longest?

Attars with heavy base notes (oud, amber, sandalwood, patchouli) last longest on the skin. Fresh citrus attars fade sooner because their brightest notes are the lightest.

Is attar better than perfume for men?

Neither is better; they behave differently. Attar is stronger per drop, alcohol-free and stays close to the skin, while a spray projects more. Attar vs perfume explains the difference.
