The office rule

An office scent should be noticed at conversation distance and no further. Soft woods, light citrus and restrained musks do that, and they last through a working day without filling the room.

How much to wear

One dab of attar at each wrist, or one or two sprays of perfume on the chest, is plenty. Reapply at lunch only if you cannot smell it on your own clothing.

Which scents to avoid at work?

Very sweet, heavy or smoky scents such as strong oud and gourmand vanilla. Keep those for evenings.
